Over more than 35 years in the New South Wales real estate industry, Lorna built, owned and operated a successful agency from the ground up, leading the business through market changes, legislative reform and significant growth.
Lorna's career began at 18 as a receptionist before progressing into Property Management. She completed her Advanced Diploma in Real Estate, obtained her Real Estate Licence in 1991 and established her own agency at the age of 25.
Her experience spans every major area of agency practice - sales, Property Management, trust accounting, compliance, team leadership, recruitment, business development and operations - providing a practical understanding of how each function contributes to the success and stability of a real estate business.
Lorna understands the pressures faced by agency owners because she has lived them.
Throughout much of her career, Lorna was fortunate to have the support of an experienced business mentor. Having access to an experienced mentor provided perspective, guidance and support through both challenging periods and times of growth. That experience reinforced her belief that even experienced agency owners, Licensees-in-Charge and Property Managers benefit from having a trusted sounding board.
That belief remains at the heart of Angell Advisory today.
One of the achievements Lorna is most proud of is maintaining strong staff retention and helping team members grow into capable, confident professionals, many of whom built long and successful careers within the business.
Throughout her career, Lorna developed a strong focus on supporting and retaining Property Management professionals. At a time when many agencies face challenges attracting and retaining experienced staff, she has always believed that people are more likely to remain in the industry when they receive appropriate training, support, mentoring and leadership.
Creating an environment where team members felt supported, valued and confident in their roles contributed significantly to long-term staff retention and professional development.
